He is survived by : his wife Patricia Ennis (Brumbley); his son David James Ennis, II of Hebron, MD; his stepdaughters, Diana Godwin of Dagsboro, DE and Sherry Magee of Dagsboro, DE; his grandsons, Derrick Godwin (Casey Ware), P. David Godwin (Ashley), Dayton Magee and Jeremy Magee; his great grandchildren, Ivan Godwin, Mitchell Godwin, Addison Godwin and Chase Godwin; and his siblings, Willard Ennis of Salisbury, MD, Carol Reiss (Jack) of California and Sandra Abbott (Richard) of Chincoteague, VA..

Viewing was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Frankford Chapel (43 Thatcher St, Frankford, DE 19945). A graveside service was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the Dagsboro Redmen Cemetery (31118 Iron Branch Rd, Dagsboro, DE 19939).
