She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester W. Hitchens and Edna M. Hitchens (Dukes); and her granddaughter Karla Alexis Bunting. She is survived by: her husband Randall P. Bunting; her daughter Kelly A. Townsend (Marvin) of Frankford, DE; her brother Vincent W. Hitchens (Nancy) of Frankford, DE; and her sibling's children, Amanda B. Desmond (Paul) and Brian V. Hitchens (Jen).

Visitation was held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services (43 Thatcher St, Frankford, DE 19945). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Frankford Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary, P.O. Box 333, Frankford, DE 19945.
