He was predeceased by: his mother Alice Murtha; his wife Helen Marie Dudlek (Cressman); and his siblings, Delores McMorris, Patricia Murtha and James Murtha.
He is survived by: his sons, Joseph (Colleen), George (Sue Ellen), Michael (Gina) and Henry "Harry" (Holli). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Paul Parish (209 Washington St, Delaware City, DE 19706). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
