He was predeceased by: his parents, John Francis McDonnell, Jr. and Edna Mae McDonnell (Ross); his parents-in-law, John and Grace Mikita; and his close friend Gary Hershberger.
He is survived by: his wife Diana Lynn "Dee Dee" McDonnell; his siblings-in-law, Cheryl Gauvey and John E. Mikita (Karen); and his nephew Ryan Mikita.
