With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard E. Hearn Sr. of Delmar, Delaware, born in Newark, Maryland, who passed away on April 8, 2024 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Horace Lee Hearn and Anna May Hearn (Miller); his wife Maude Louise Hearn (Ellis); his son Randall Hearn; and his siblings, Dallas Hearn, Irvin Hearn and Beatrice Williams.

He is survived by : his children, Donna Haney of Delmar and Richard E. Hearn, Jr. (Brenda) of West Virginia; his grandchildren, Rachael Bogdan (Roland), Jarrod Hearn (Tori), Gage Hearn (Olivia) and Brendan Hearn; his siblings, Allen Hearn (Carol), Elsie Lowe and Brenda Chatham (Gary); and his son Freddy Mairena of Nicaragua. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Short Funeral Home (13 E Grove St, Delmar, DE 19940). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
