With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Benny S. DeVito (Dover, Delaware), who passed away on October 29, 2025 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas DeVito and Catina Puccio DeVito; his wife Theresia "Hideko"; his siblings, Joey DeVito and Rosalie Dichiaro; and his nephew Joseph Dichiaro.
He is survived by: his children, Danny DeVito, Sr. (Cindy Piecuski DeVito) of Oxford, Benny S. DeVito, Jr. (Lyn Bollman DeVito) of Milton, PA, Michael DeVito (Karen Iavecchia DeVito) of Camden, DE and Tina Sander-Loftus (Kevin Loftus) of Wyoming, DE; his brother Anthony DeVito of Woodcliff Lake, NJ; his grandchildren, Jason Benjamin DeVito, Danny DeVito, Jr., Alex Thomas DeVito, Jaimie Lyn DeVito, Julia Athena Loftus, Michael DeVito, Jr., Andrew John DeVito, Michael Anthony Sander, Marius Sebastian Sander and Jenna Elisabeth DeVito; and his great grandchildren, Ava Renee DeVito, Alana Grace DeVito and Joshua Benjamin DeVito.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Torbert Funeral Chapel (1145 E Lebanon Rd, Dover, DE 19901). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, November 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Cross Catholic Church (631 S State St, Dover, DE 19901).
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Westminster Village at Dover and Delaware Hospice.
