He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Donovan and Arella Poore Donovan; his former wife Sarah Elizabeth Donovan; and his siblings, William Donovan and Dorothy Etcher.

He is survived by: his children, Donna Donovan, Gail Henderson and Charles Donovan Jr.; his daughter-in-law Valerie Donovan; his granddaughters, Lisa Geesaman, Sarah Geesaman and Jessica Faulkner; his grandson-in-law Randy Faulkner; and his great grandchildren, Reagan and Morgan Faulkner.
