He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Mater and Geraldine Egelkraut Mater. He is survived by: his wife Betty N. Mater of Dover, DE; his daughters, Carol Abbott (Earl) of Wyoming, DE, JoAnne Baird (Gil) of Dover, DE and Rebecca Brooks, MD (Jack) of New Bern, NC; his brother John Mater (Marty) of Traverse City, Michigan; his grandchildren, Melissa Zanella (Austin), Kimberly Josz (Jerome), Jessica Baird (Patrick), Jonathan Abbott, Nate Brooks (Meghan) and Sarah Delph (Rob); and his great grandchildren, Clara, Sebastien, Juniper, Zita and Ethan.
Viewing will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Presbyterian Church of Dover (54 S State St, Dover, DE 19901). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
