With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Darlene Ruth Hurley (Dover, Delaware), born in Newark, Delaware, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 3, 2025 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Martha Hurd and John T. Hurd; her husband Terry G. Hurley; and her siblings, Thomas Wayne Hurd and Rose Ann Munz (Bill).
She is survived by: her daughters, Cindy Sparco (John) of Newark, DE and Kimberly LaShomb of Middletown, DE; her grandchildren, Julia, Johnny, Jenna, Darla, Marilynn, Gracie, Lillian and Ruby; her sister Donna H. Stanley (Douglass) of Smyrna, DE; and her sister-in-law Barbara Hurd of Bear. She is also survived by several nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces and many cousins.
Viewing was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Torbert Funeral Chapel (1145 E Lebanon Rd, Dover, DE 19901). A funeral service was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery (2465 Chesapeake City Rd, Bear, DE 19701).
