He is survived by: his wife Carol Mitchell of Camden, DE; his children, Tan Nguyen of Westminster, CA, Jennifer Wright (Robert) of Felton, DE and Andrew Mitchell (Jennifer) of Magnolia, DE; his siblings, Thomas Mitchell (Charlotte), Joseph Mitchell (Anna), Marie Tindall and Katherine Civatte; his grandchildren, Don Ho Nguyen (Ajchriya), Donna Nguyen Ho, Dylan Nguyen Ho, Jeffrey Mitchell (Victoria) and Mark Wright (Haley Mikesell); and his great grandchildren, McKenzie and Archer.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Torbert Funeral Chapel (1145 E Lebanon Rd, Dover, DE 19901). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery (26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
