With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Evelyn June Deakins (Dover, Delaware), born in Elmira, New York, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Evelyn left this world on December 2, 2025 at the age of 95, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
As we bid Evelyn farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Evelyn is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her husband Cecil (Deak); and her son Dennis. She is survived by: her grandchildren, Dawn, Kristina, Matthew and Jon-David; and her son John (Terri). She is also survived by her four grandchildren, and her twelve great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM and at 10:30 AM at the Torbert Funeral Chapel (1145 E Lebanon Rd, Dover, DE 19901). A burial will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery (2465 Chesapeake City Rd, Bear, DE 19701).
