With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John C. Papen of Dover, Delaware, born in Somerville, New Jersey, who passed away on August 12, 2023 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Papen and Ida Mildred Papen; his wives, Betty Ann Papen and Nancy Lee O'Neal Papen; his siblings, Elaine Papen Kaczka and Frank Papen; his great grandchild Kayleanna Riddle; and his great great grandchild Damien Riddle.
He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey Papen (Debbie), Karla Crossan (Eric), Jacqueline Ramos and Leslie Turney (David); his grandchildren, Jared Papen, Joel Papen (Holly), Kate Crossan (Jean Damien), Julie Humphreys (Mark), Yadira Ramos, Christopher Ramos (Lauren Martin), Justine Martinez (Julius Mickles) and Elaina Martinez (Nancie); his great grandchildren, Valentin Rangel, Nadia Cisneros, Kiara Lopez, Jaxon Papen, Maddox Papen, Wyatt Humphreys, Jaciella Desselle, Phyllis Riddle, Kalib Riddle and Brandon Martinez; his great great grandchildren, Drake Lee Davis and Ivan Casillas; his sister Karen Walters (Dean Webb); his sister-in-law Marianne O'Neal; his pet Mickey; his caregivers, Lillian Korell and Michelle English; his children, Richard Payne (Lindsay), Jeff Payne (Debi), Ron Payne and Tracy Boyer (Chris); and his great great grandchild Volk. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
