She was predeceased by : her husband Willie Earl Payne; her daughter Elaine Mazanet; and her siblings, R. C., Royce Woodard and Mary Lewis.

She is survived by : her son David E Payne (Elaine Marie) of Middletown, DE; her grandchildren, Julianne (Sean) of Camden, DE and David Ryan Payne (Courtney) of Dover, DE; her great grandchildren, Owen Jacob Conaway, Reese Loren Payne and Grady Ryan Payne; her sister Wilmanel Overstreet of Lincolnton, NC; and her close friend Agnes Wright (Ed). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Beeson Funeral Home (2053 Pulaski Hwy, Newark, DE 19702). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A committal service was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the Gracelawn Memorial Park (2220 N Dupont Hwy, New Castle, DE 19720).

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to either Brookdale Dover, Memory Care Unit, 150 Saulsbury Road, Dover, DE 19904 or to Christiana Care (Accent Care) Hospice, 200 Continental Drive, Suite 407, Newark, DE 19713.
