He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Makowsky and Anna Makowsky (Kalada); his wife Ruth Makowsky (Winkelman); his son Ronald Makowsky; and his nephew Gerald Sporay (Loretta).
He is survived by: his children, Brian Makowsky, Steven Makowsky and Tracey Lisiecki (John); his granddaughters, Haley Lisiecki and Stephanie Ward (Erik); and his nieces and nephews, Maryann Robertson, Joseph Makowsky (Jan), Alan Makowsky (Toni), Robert Sporay (Kim), Mark Sporay, William Sporay (Anna), Dianne Brock (Greg) and Elaine Wallaston (Martin).
