It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sidney R Smith of Dover, Delaware, born in Smyrna, Delaware, who passed away on January 5, 2021, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Shanley Smith and Sadie Houk; and his brothers, Shanley Smith (Buddy), Dickie McNabb, Delancey Pryor (Buddy) and Norris Eddington.

He is survived by: his son Steve; his wife Christine P. Smith of Walhalla, SC; his children, Steven Smith (Debby) of Dover, Kelvin Smith of Magnolia, Cheryl Omans of Dover, Katie Smith Kelly (Chuck) of Cambridge, MD and Kristie Parker (Trey) of Georgetown, DE; and his siblings, Kenneth Smith of Milford, William Smith (Billy) of Leipsic, Bessie Hession of Smyrna, Maryann Couture of Camden and Doris Kessinger of Dover. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

In consideration of protecting the family and friends health, public health guidelines enacted for the prevention of the spread of covid-19 virus, limitations on gatherings, physical distancing, use of hand sanitation and masks are in place.
