He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Gilbert, and Stephen Gilbert, Sr.; and his siblings, Gladys Lyttle and Lee Taylor. He is survived by: his wife Yoko; his children, Steve Gilbert of Frederica, DE, Micheal Gilbert of Gloucester, VA and Christine Gordon of Dover, DE; his grandchildren, Jennifer Morgan, Michelle Setzer, Stephen Gilbert, Sarah Gordon, Hunter Gilbert, Roman Gilbert, Emily Gordon and Yuji Gordon; and his great grandchild Crew Setzer.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Food Bank of Delaware, St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Autism Delaware.
