He was predeceased by: his parents, Victoria Butler (Deen) and Walter Butler Sr.; his in-laws, Nola and Price Willing; his son Walter Olin Butler III; his brother Brewster Deen Butler; his siblings-in-law, Rose Butler, Shirley Dashiell, Donald Dashiell and Raymond Kellam; his niece Marilyn O'Neil; and his nephews, Steven Dashiell and Chris Dashiell.
He is survived by: his wife Bert; his daughter Tammy Augustus (John); his grandchildren, John Augustus (Amber), Lynsey Larson (Dan) and Patricia Murtha (Austin); his great grandchildren, Ava, Jack Augustus, Nola, Gustave, Cornell Larson, Bianca, Riley, Austin II and Murtha; his daughter-in-law Rosa Butler; his grandchildren, Marlo Deen Butler and Claudia Para; his great grandchildren, Oscar, Selena, Cristina and Mayte; his sister Barbara Kellam; and his sister-in-law Judy Willing. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
