He was predeceased by : his parents, Nolan Sylvester and Betty Young; his former life partner Beverly Ann Sylvester; his brother Timothy Sylvester; and his great grandchild Eric-Levi.

He is survived by : his wife Catherine Sylvester; his children, Melissa Southerland, William Sylvester, Cynthia Travers, Betty Belong, Jerri Meekins and Barbara McGinnis; and his siblings, Ronnie Sylvester, David Sylvester, Kay Sylvester and Lea Ann Sylvester.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to help offset the funeral expenses.
