With sadness, we share the passing of Richard Van Hekle in Felton, Delaware. Richard, born on August 7, 1956 in Wilmington, Delaware, passed away on October 11, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Van Hekle and Ethel Van Hekle; his brothers, Frank Van Hekle and Tob Van Hekle; and his nephew Kyle Van Hekle.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Van Hekle; his children, Thomas Reynolds (Misty Reynolds), Kristi Lankford, Laurie Wilcutts, Shea Rodan (Todd Rodan) and Kyle Van Hekle Jr. (Devan Mitchell); his grandchildren, Thomas Reynolds, MacKenzie Reynolds, Robert Lankford, Rebecca Lankford, Katie Lankford, Casey Jester, Toby Jester, Kirstin Mills, Cheyenne Jarman, Cameron Wilcutts, Liam Rodan, Lillianna Rodan, Langley Rodan and Waylon Mitchell; his siblings, Debbie Edwards (Wayne) and David Van Hekle (Bonnie); and his sister-in-law Linda Van Hekle. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Torbert Funeral Chapel (1145 E Lebanon Rd, Dover, DE 19901). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation in Richard's memory.
