Jolene E. Barthel Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jolene E. Barthel of Fenwick Island, Delaware, who passed away on June 8, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband John E. Barthel; and her brother Walter Vernon Morris. She is survived by: her children, Barbara Deyhle (Walter) of Wallace, NC, Doug Barthel (Marisa) of Keller, TX, Beverly Van Roekel (Brad) of Sterling, VA and Matthew Barthel (Theresa) of Leesburg, VA; and her grandchildren, Jonathan Deyhle, Steven Deyhle, Michael Deyhle, Andrew Deyhle, Melissa Hawkins, Jennifer Edgemon, Brittany Van Roekel, Ben Van Roekel, Grace Edwards, Sam Barthel and Betty Barthel. She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services (38040 Muddy Neck Rd, Ocean View, DE 19970). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Jolene's name to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401, to thank them for providing the best care for Jolene and her family during the last week of Jolene's life.
