She was predeceased by: her parents, James H. Hitchens and Jerdie E. Hitchens (Oliphant); her husband Alton W. Scott; her grandson Aiden Savage; her daughter-in-law Beth Brown Scott; and her brothers, Vernon Hitchens and Gerald Hitchens.
She is survived by: her children, Wesley Scott and Wendy Scott-Savage (Jesse); her grandchildren, Corey Scott, Talan Savage and Avery Savage; and her siblings, Paul Hitchens (Norma Lee), Thelma Banks, Janice Robinson, Bonnie Abbott and Debbie Cordrey (Dennis). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Short Funeral Services (609 E Market St, Georgetown, DE 19947). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
