He was predeceased by: his parents, Mildred Lord and Frank Porter Sr.; his wife Charlotte L. Porter; and his daughter Diane M. Porter. He is survived by: his son Donald R. Porter Sr. (Peggy); his brothers, John Porter (Jeanie) and Marvin Porter; and his grandchildren, Stacey Sizemore, Amy Greenlee, Donald Porter Jr. and Raymond Porter. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren.
He felt community was important and would give back by sponsoring several sports and organizations with one of his favorites being able to give an annual donation to the new Harrington Public Library.
