John A. Vogl Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John A. Vogl (Harrington, Delaware), born in Dover, Delaware, who passed away on October 1, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid adieu to John's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in his wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration John has bequeathed us. For though he may have departed from our sight, his spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Frances Vogl and Ernest Vogl Sr.. He is survived by: his children, Michel Vogl (Dan) and Shauna Porter (Greg); his brothers, Anthony Vogl and Ernest Vogl Jr. (Cathy); and his grandsons, Kasen Porter and Kade Porter.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Wounded Warrior Project.

“John was in the Air Force with me (Garry Bushau) in North Carolina and has always kept in touch by phone and Christmas Cards. I tried to reach him and left messages. When he didn't return my calls and no card this year I looked on the internet and found why. I had spoke to him last in September after my birthday on Sept. 20 when I turned 80. He was such a good friend and glad we stayed in touch this last 50+ years.”

“My sincere condolences to the Vogl family. John or better know to me as Johnny was an older cousin who really did not have to acknowledge a pesky younger cousin, however, he was always nice to me. On one of his trips back from overseas, he gifted me a bracelet. It was beautiful and unexpected. Although I have not seen John in many years, it saddens me that he is gone from this world.
