He was predeceased by: his parents, William Richard and Mary Wells Shepard. He is survived by: his wife Miriam Ruth Wall Shepard; his son Richard "John" Shepard Jr.; his grandson Richard John Shepard III (RJ); his sisters, Patsy Bradley of Middletown, DE and Peggy Lister of Silver Springs, MD; Trista, Ashlyn, Kayla North and Danielle Botterman Shepard. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
