She was predeceased by : her parents, William Butler and Josephine Butler (Hopkins); her husband Walter V. Leger; and her sisters, Betty Lou Petrucci, Catherine Tetlow and Wilma Ainscow.
She is survived by : her children, Pamela J. Sowden (Duke) of Hockessin, DE and Bill Leger of Wilmington, DE; her grandsons, Jason Sowden (Katy) of Avondale, PA and Ryan Sowden of Thornton, CO; and her great grandchildren, Gabe Arick and Anna Heisler of Avondale, PA..
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Joan's name to the Cranston Heights Fire Co., 3306 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, DE 19808.
