He was predeceased by: his parents, Thaddeus "Buck" Russell and Kathryn Culver Russell; his sister Diane Neal; and his brother-in-law Dick Kellam. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Kellam Russell; his children, Kathryn Johnson (Wayne), Gail Longo (Mark Adams) and Thad Russell (Kelly); his grandchildren, Erin Johnson, Brandon Johnson (Rebecca), Kenny Mendez, Dominic Longo, McKenna Longo, Miranda Haday and Gigi Russell; and his brother-in-law Tim Kellam (Vicki). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in Richard "Dick" Russell's honor to the Laurel Fire Department, 205 W. 10th Street, Laurel, Delaware 19956.
