He was predeceased by: his parents, Mae Grimm Thompson and John M. Thompson; and his siblings, Jack (Silver Star), Dorothy Grubb (Ceylon), Betty Thompson, Shirley Harker (Harry) and Jean Zerby (Kenneth).
He is survived by: his wife Lauretta Williams Thompson; his daughters, Cynthia Spicer of Cornville, AZ, Karen Woodland (Ritchie) of Seaford, DE and Sherry Shockley (Jeff) of Laurel, DE.; his grandchildren, Kristian Ruark (Trent), Kyler Woodland (Audrey), Justin Woodland (Amber), Blair Shockley (Julie) and Brett Shockley (Cortney); and his great grandchildren, Grace, Tripp, Elsie Ruark, Layla Woodland, Harper, Asher, Rhett Shockley, Mason, Piper Shockley, Levi, Owen Morris and Evan Woodland. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
