We announce the death of Virginia Harrington of Laurel, Delaware, who passed away on September 19, 2026, at the age of 78. Virginia will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred B. "Junior" Smith Jr. and Ruth E. Meredith; her significant other Raymond "Rip" Lloyd; and her siblings, Fred B. Smith III, Joyce A. Mears, Donna F. Ockels, Mike Smith, Steve Smith, Freda Miller, Scott Smith and Mark Smith.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sherry Hastings (Mark) of Bridgeville and Tanya Callaway of Laurel; her stepson Chad Lloyd; her sister Debbie Waldridge of Seaford; her grandchildren, Kari Green (Brian) of Delmar, Michael Hastings (Stacey) of Bridgeville, Morgan Bragg (Braxton) of Stafford, Virginia and Jadyn Dolby; and her niece Lori Gesuero.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Connection Church (28714 Seaford Rd, Laurel, DE 19956).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association or National Kidney Foundation.
