He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Owen James Cheevers and Mary Geary Cheevers; his daughter Mary Rebecca Gabrielle; his siblings, Ann Cheevers Kolb, Mary Wittekindt, James Cheevers and Thomas Cheevers; and his cousin Dr. Margaret Anderson.

He is survived by: his wife Alicia Lorraine Jones; his sister Theresa Jablonski; his brother-in-law Joseph Jablonski; his nephews, Daniel C Kolb and Owen Wittekindt; his brothers, Christopher Cheevers, T. J., Patrick Cheevers, Brian and Joseph Jablonski; and his nieces, Suzanne Kolb, Kate Wittekindt Wade, Lisa Cheevers Struble and Carlyn Jablonski Healy.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 16th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Peter's Episcopal Church (200 2nd St, Lewes, DE 19958).

In place of flowers, donations in memory of Owen may be made to any of the following three churches: St Peters 200 2nd St, Lewes, DE, Friendship Baptist 500 W 4th St. Lewes, DE, St George AME 317 Park Ave Lewes, DE.
