It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Edward Garvey of Lewes, Delaware, who passed away on May 1, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Richard Edward may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Elmer and Erma Pauline Garvey (Melvin); his wife Dorothy Garvey; and his son Gregory Wayne Garvey. He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey Garvey (Denise) and Kelle Garvey (John Quinn); his granddaughter Bryanna Garvey; his sister Thelma McCandles; and his close friend Joan Thorp. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
