He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Flaherty (Forest) and Henry Flaherty of East Hartford, CT.. He is survived by: his wife Beth (Mawson); his children, Shawn Flaherty (Candice) of Escondido, CA, Shannon Flaherty of Apex, NC, Ryan Flaherty (Jessica) of Camden-Wyoming, DE, Brendan Flaherty (Erin) of Clayton, NC and Katie Phillips (Christopher) of Lugoff, SC.; his sister Maureen Flaherty of Manchester, CT; his sisters-in-law, Stacie Mawson of Manchester, CT and Suzanne McDougal (Bill) of South Windsor, CT; and his sibling's children, Kara, Kelle, Nathan, Michael and Brian. He is also survived by cousins and dear friends.
The military honors was held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 at the Odd Fellows Cemetery (35 Rising Sun Rd, Camden Wyoming, DE 19934). Viewing will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Pippin Funeral Home (119 W Camden Wyoming Ave, Wyoming, DE 19934). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, November 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Bernadette's Catholic Church (109 Dixon St, Harrington, DE 19952).
Donations in honor of Steve may be made to the Fisher House Foundation's "Families of the Fallen" House at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware.
