It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Irene Hrycushko of Middletown, Delaware, born in Dover, Delaware, who passed away on December 11, 2020, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Lewyckyj and Sophia Lewyckyj (Ornat). She is survived by: her husband Bohdan J. Hrycushko; her sons, Stephen of Middletown and John (Lisa) of Leander, TX; and her granddaughter Elle.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Irene's memory to St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 800 West Lea Boulevard, Wilmington, DE 19802.

“I was saddened to hear that Irene passed away. Mrs. H as we called her at Clayton Elementary School was so nice and supportive of the specials. When I arrived at Clayton as the new art teacher she made me feel so welcome . Irene was a fantastic first grade teacher. Even after she retired, she would bring me art supplies that she collected. Mrs. H is in my thoughts, prayers, and heart. Irene will never be forgotten.”
