He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Burger and Josefine Burger; and his former wife Vera Lee Knotts. He is survived by: his wife Brunhilde Heidrich Burger; his stepchildren, Eric Heidrich (Stephanie) and Sonja Cucunato; his brother Ludwig Burger (Angie); his daughters, Eileen Mears (JC), Sandy Hagadorn and Joanne Walls; his grandchildren, Russell McNatt (Tyler Dean), Josef Mears (Tricia), Patricia Brenner (Alex) and Melinda Hagadorn (Brian Lebischak); and his great grandchildren, Kylie Mears, Josef Mears, Jr., Ella Kelly, Nicholas Lebischak and Aiden Lebischak. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
