He was predeceased by: his parents, Keji Gao and Erxian Gao (Zhu); and his sibling Shan Gao. He is survived by: his wife Loretta L. Kung; his children, Xi Gao (Joe Lin), Lucy Meyers (Raymond), Jeff Gao (Bing) and Amy Chapman (Craig); his siblings, Yin Gao, Xuan Gao and Wei Gao; and his grandchildren, Tyler Meyers, Ashley Meyers, Sarah Meyers, Kelvin Gao, Ethan Gao and Konner Chapman.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ming's memory to a charity of the donor's choice.
