Richard L. Derr Obituary
We announce the death of Richard L. Derr of Middletown, Delaware, who passed away on September 28, 2026, at the age of 83. Richard will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Richard will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Richard will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Richard’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Stanley and Mary Derr (Hrabelska). He is survived by: his wife Clare Ann Derr (DiNardo); his son Steven Derr (Jennifer); and his grandsons, Jacob and Ethan.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home (275 E Main St, Middletown, DE 19709). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
