With sadness, we share the passing of Jay Dickerson of Milford, Delaware. Jay, born on November 15, 1940, passed away on August 22, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, W. Mitchell Dickerson (Mitch) and Ruth L. Dickerson; his wife Ruth Ann Dickerson; his grandson Joseph L. McIlvain; and his siblings, Ralph A. Dickerson and Nancy F. Hitchens.
He is survived by: his children, J. R. Dickerson (Kim) and Paige McIlvain (Donald); his grandchildren, Jessica Ritter (Brooks), Jeremy Dickerson (Veronica) and John McIlvain (Ciana); and his great grandchildren, Hannah Cannady Dickerson, Ari Dickerson, Austin Dickerson, Hannah Ritter, Sophia Ritter and Ava Ritter.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Lofland Funeral Home (102 Lakeview Ave, Milford, DE 19963). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions be made to Food Bank of Delaware, 102 Delaware Veterans Blvd, Milford, DE 19963 or Home of the Brave, 6632 Sharps Rd, Milford, DE 19963.
