He was predeceased by: his parents, Shanley P Smith and Sadie L McNatt Smith; and his brothers, Shanley Smith (Buddy), Sidney Smith, Dickie McNabb, Delancey Pryor (Buddy) and Norris Eddinton.

He is survived by: his daughters, Penny Shockley (Greg) and Kelly Stevenson (Scott); his grandchildren, Emily Sylvester of Berlin and Conor Sylvester of Milford; and his great grandchild Savannah Summers.

“I was sadden to hear of Ken’s passing.   He was a devoted member of the Senior Center, especially the wood carving program, spending hours working to perfection to create the absolute precise object. A gentleman and a true friend.  We all enjoyed his sometimes humorous stories of the past, and his expertise with card playing. He enjoyed the many hours playing with his friends and enjoining a fine dinner once a month. I will miss him. My deepest sympathy to the family.  May God be with you.”
