We announce the death of Carl Donophan (Millsboro, Delaware), who passed away on September 2, 2026, at the age of 75. Carl will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow Wilson Donophan and Beatrice Donophan Shahan. He is survived by: his wife Patti Ann Donophan; his siblings, James Wilson Donophan (James), Donna Jean Faircloth of Tennessee and Crawford Shahan, Jr.; his mother-in-law Barbara Beachy (Titus); his sisters-in-law, Debora Foor, Laura Bell-Burkett (Craig) and Cynthia Rust; and his pet Lt. Yoda. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Melvin Funeral Home (15522 S Dupont Hwy, Harrington, DE 19952). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery (26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966).
Carl made 225 donations to the Blood Bank of Delaware over a 30-year period.
