He was predeceased by: his parents, George Thornton and Naomi Blackburn Thornton; his wife Earline Young Thornton; his son Kenneth Thornton; and his siblings, Joseph Thornton and Darlene Dryden.
He is survived by: his daughter Beverly A. Weldon; and his grandsons, Matthew Weldon and Aaron Weldon.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Pagano Funeral Home (3711 Foulk Rd, Garnet Valley, PA 19060). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 1:15 PM at the Lawn Croft Cemetery (1000 W Ridge Rd, Linwood, PA 19061).
