He was predeceased by : his parents, Jean F. Dolsky (McKelvey) and Edward J. Silkworth. He is survived by : his siblings, Gary Silkworth, Edward Silkworth, Jean Sickler and Terry Payne; and his children, Gerald Silkworth, Jr., Joyce Silkworth-Mallory, Jamina Bone and George Silkworth. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to French Creek Council, BSA, 1815 Robison Rd W, Erie, PA 16509, where four of his grandchildren are Scouts, and two of them are Eagle Scouts or to Oak Orchard/Riverdale Post 28, 31768 Legion Rd, Millsboro, Delaware 19966.
