He was predeceased by: his parents, William Truitt and Mary Truitt (Hudson); and his siblings, Jean Hudson, Elizabeth Rayner, William Truitt and Arthur Truitt.

He is survived by: his brother Virgil Truitt (Charlene); his niece Bonnie T. VanBuskirk; and his close friends, Jim, Cindy Palmer and John. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
