With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Plath of Millville, Delaware, who passed away on September 10, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let her loved ones carry forward the torch of her memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of her love and the brilliance of her spirit. Though Shirley may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, her essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George W. Smith and Jeanette F. Smith; her husband George W. Plath; her son David R. Plath; and her siblings, Barbara McGowan and Fred A. Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Sharon G. P. Palmer and Michael G. Plath (Barbara). She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
