charles nash wrote a sympathy message

“I knew DW Liller as a Corporal when I started my civilian career in communications at the Park Police in 1977. He was a fine influence on me as a rookie clerk in CommSec. He had good stories, was very down to earth, easy to talk and learn from. The police work and environment was a foreign atmosphere to me--for a couple of years, ha, and his was a friendly, guiding presence to help get me through the transition to the police world, when for months that wasn't a certainty. Thank you, DW.”

Ronald Pierce -MCSS- wrote a sympathy message

“DW was one of the most influential supervisors I ever had the pleasure to work with. Led by example. Ended roll calls with "you all know what to do, now go do it". Got a ton of pics from all the parades we did throughout the years, this was one with DW on RT (Rapid Transit) and not Mark, his usual mount. He helped to shape the careers of a lot of officers and will be missed. -Ron Pierce”

Steve Tucker wrote a sympathy message

“We retire and we tend to drift away - often leaving Maryland for other retirement friendly states! I relocated to South Carolina and regret I will not be able to attend the services. Don was my Special Ops Sgt and put me on a path of success. My fondess memories; riding horses and motorcycles. The community events, parades, inaugeration of presidents, crowd control at the UofMd sporting events and DC protests. Never let me ride his beloved horse/partner "Mark". Great man/awesome memories.”
