He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Young and Rachel Young; his wife Elsie Sturgis; his daughter Evette; and his siblings, Everett, Eugene, Howard, Clarence, Lawrence "Tim", Mildred, Dorothy, Margaret and Rachel.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Rhonda Fleming-Agyemang (Moses), Cheri Fleming of Dover, DE and Leroy Fleming of Dover, DE.; his great grandchildren, Charity Wilks, Jershon Malloy, Thelylah Fleming and Naomi Fleming of Dover, DE.; and his sisters-in-law, Lois Wolford (late George) of Frankford, DE and Carolyn Harmon (Gary) of Georgetown, DE..
Viewing was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Burton Chapel AME Church (29632 Eagle Crest Rd, Milton, DE 19968). A celebration of life was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery (26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966).
