He was predeceased by: his parent Thomas Grimes; and his siblings, Verta Mae Grimes-Taylor and David Grimes. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Bullock Grimes; his sister Edna Moore; his children, Charlie, Jr., Pamela Johnson and Tracey Grimes; his grandchildren, Michael, CJ Grimes, Jonathan, Danielle, Dominique Johnson and Madison Mayo; and his nephews, Wayne Taylor (Katherine) and Keynan Collins. He is also survived by cousins, great nephews and great nieces.
