He is survived by: his wife Janet Bitner; his siblings, Lloyd Bitner and Anamae; his children, Renee Smith (Anthony Smith), Jordana Cook (Wayne Cook) and Donald Bitner Jr. (Kim Bitner); and his son-in-law Richard Ranauto (Sherry Ranauto). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:20 PM at the Delaware Veteran's Memorial Cemetery (2565 Chesapeake City Rd, Bear, DE 19701).
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be mailed to Fairwind Baptist Church, where Don was a loyal member, located at 801 Seymour Rd. Bear, DE 19701.
