He was predeceased by: his parents, John Montgomery "Gum" Elrod and Elizabeth "Lizzy" Elrod (Love); his wife Frances Jean Davis; and his siblings, David, Nora Lee, Jessie, Lila, Mattie, Lloyd, Locey and Dorothy.
He is survived by: his wife's sons, Edward Kevin, Joel Melsha (Elrod), Mark Alan and Drew Christian; his sons, Joel Melsha (Wayne), Mark and Drew (Holly); and his grandchildren, Kirk, Shawn, Kristen, Alexis (Melsha), James (Melsha), Alan, Violet, Mary and Charlotte Elrod. He is also survived by his 6 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations may be made to Delaware Hospice.
