He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Read and Mary Read (Russell); his children, Robert Read and JoAnn Gentner; and his granddaughter Sierra Mercado.
He is survived by: his wife Annette Read; his children, Barbara Mergenthaler of Bear and Michael Read (Roberta) of New Castle; and his stepchildren, Christina Smith (Andrew), Luis Mercado (April), Christopher Mercado, Roman Mercado, Edward Mercado (Lori) and Daniel Mercado. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
