She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles and Helen; her siblings, Marvin, Preston Scott, Helen Tyler (Northam) and Mary-Lou Hall (Northam); her son Franklin J Nelson; her son-in-law Allan F. Hale; and her grandson John C. Nelson.
She is survived by: her children, John W. Nelson, Jr., Deborah Hale (Nelson) and Beverly A. Nelson; her daughter-in-law Jean Nelson (Bryson); and her grandchildren, Franklin J. Nelson, Jr. (Jennifer), Heather (Nelson), Dunlap (Ryan), Megan (Nelson), Candler (Matthew), Joshua, Brittany Nelson, Rosemarie (Hale), Paris (Nathan) and Kyle M. Megaw. She is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
