He is survived by: his wife Barbara Hutchison Sheldon; his children, Dr. Karen Sheldon Wagamon and Howard F. Sheldon III (Chip) of Wilmington, DE; and his grandson Lieutenant Carson Sheldon Watts (U. S. Army).
Viewing was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium-Atkins-Lodge Chapel (16961 Kings Hwy, Lewes, DE 19958). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Gracelawn Memorial Park Cemetery (2220 N Dupont Hwy, New Castle, DE 19720).
